Passionists Charism

“We seek the unity of our lives and our apostolate in the Passion of Jesus.” The Passionists express their participation in the Passion by a special vow, by which they bind themselves to keep alive the memory of the Passion of Christ. They strive to foster awareness of its meaning and value for each person and for the life of the world. They seek to incorporate this vow into our daily lives by living the evangelical counsels.

Mission

“Our mission aims at evangelizing others by means of the Word of the Cross.” Passionists promote the memory of the passion of Jesus by word and deed striving to foster awareness of Christ Passion, its meaning and value for each person and for the life of the world, Cont. # 6. Passionists preach in various ministries among the poor, and the marginalized who are the true reflection of the Crucified Christ of the time. Faithful to the Charism of St Paul of the Cross, Passionists mission is to keep alive in the world the love of Jesus Crucified as seen in His Sacred Passion. This mission is rooted in communal prayer life and gets its expression in the ministry to the people of God especially to the poor and suffering. To talk about Passionists is to get the feel of life in community. Fraternal life in Passionists Communities means that everything is held in common. Passionists are active contemplatives who, in a creative way, unite contemplation and an active pastoral life. Passionists mission is rooted in communal prayer life and gets its expression in the ministry to the people of God especially to the poor and suffering.
