Patronage: Lay brothers, those with cancer and those who serve quietly and faithfully
Blessed Isidore De Loor was born into a devout farming family in Belgium and entered the Passionist Congregation as a lay brother at age 26. He was known for his quiet strength, simplicity and deep prayer life. As a religious brother, he performed humble tasks like gardening and assisting in the kitchen, doing everything with great love and dedication.
Even after being diagnosed with cancer and losing an eye, he remained cheerful and offered his suffering in union with Christ. He died young but left behind a powerful witness of humble service, silent suffering and deep devotion to the Passion of Jesus.
